Clarborough Primary School

Be the best you can be!

Homework

Our Homework guidance is based upon the following principles:

  • Children that do not complete their homework will be put at a disadvantage as they haven't had the opportunity to consolidate their learning,
  • On occasion, children who haven't completed their homework may need to do their homework task while other children are completing another activity,
  • Homework is one of the ways in which parents can support their child’s development,
  • Ensuring that children go to bed early and talking to them about their learning are just as important as completing homework tasks sent home,
  • The homework activities that the children undertake are planned and prepared alongside our Clarborough Curriculum,
  • No child should be put in the position that they cannot complete their homework because of lack of resources at home,
  • Parents shouldn’t feel overburdened by the amount of homework that their child is receiving and should contact school if they require support with this.

Pupils at our school will receive homework each week and this may include:
  • weekly spellings to learn
  • reading at home - at least three times per week
  • timetables practice via TT Rockstars
  • Maths and grammar homework in Y6 to support Y7 transition
