Pupil Voice

Pupil Voice is the student council of Clarborough Primary School. We are a group of pupils who are elected by our class mates once a year, to ensure that our voices are heard and to be the representatives for all of the children in school.

We meet at lunchtimes, together with Mrs Green (our mentor), to discuss ideas and think of ways to make life at our school even better.

One of our best ideas has been to raise funds for a friendship bench in the main playground. Our class mates told us that they felt this was needed for those playtimes when they feel a bit lonely.

To do this, for one week a month we ran a ‘pop up’ shop at morning break time, where we sold healthy snacks and drinks.

In our first week of doing this we made and sold smoothies with Miss Green’s help. It was hard work, as we had to come in early every morning to prepare them, but we raised over £144, which school matched £ for £. We also sold hot (well warm chocolate), with cream and marshmallows, museli bars and fresh melon and pineapple.

Our current focus is on recycling and saving energy around school.  We often walk around school and ensure lights are switched off if they do not need to be on.  We promote recycling by asking people to bring in a variety of things for us to collect.  We currently accept batteries, crisp packets, pens and personal care and beauty packets.

Thank you, Pupil Voice.
